Paul Stewart - President, Nautalex Business Services; Founder, Nautalex Software Services

“When a client presents a problem that looks too tough to solve, I love to come up with an elegant solution that no one had thought of yet.”

With a BSc Earth Sciences, from the University of Waterloo and Novell CNE training, Cisco IP router training, management training, and lots of practice, Paul is the go-to guy for networking services.

Starting out as a geologist, he began supporting engineers and CAD/CAM, which led to computer networking (Novell was new then and Microsoft didn’t have a server product yet). Paul then launched Nautalex Business Services Inc. Later, internet support services and web development demands led to the creation of Nautalex Software Services with Jarret Austin which has blossomed into its own specialized web marketing company.

A humanitarian at heart, Paul has been a Rotarian for over 10 years, helping raise money for the underprivileged and travelling to different countries where he’s experienced remarkably different cultures.

At home, Paul keeps a sharp eye on the Nautalex business and keeps it moving in the right direction. He never knows what new challenge will be waiting for him to solve from one week to the next but when trouble starts, and people begin to panic, that’s when the job (and often the fun) begins. Paul really enjoys those times then again he also loves skiing black diamond runs in fresh powder at Vail!

“The good news about computers is that they do what you tell them to do. The bad news is that they do what you tell them to do.-- Ted Nelson

Ruth is the IT department for small to medium size companies helping businesses and their employees work more easily and productively. She specializes in Microsoft networking products, including Windows Servers, Exchange Server, and Sharepoint. She also installs and maintains BlackBerry Enterprise Servers.

Ruth has her BSc in biology from the University of Waterloo, studied Business Administration at Wilfred Laurier University and is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer. She has worked as a network administrator, a computer instructor and a course materials developer.

Ruth’s favourite thing about her work is the constant variety of her day. Her least favourite thing is viruses, spam and malware. When she’s not in holed up in windowless server rooms, Ruth can be found hiking and volunteering with trail organizations.

Adam Fridenburg - Desktop Computer Specialist

Adam Fridenburg - Desktop Computer Specialist

“The computer industry changes more rapidly than almost any other, as it has since its inception; if you stop learning you simply can't do this job for long.”

Adam began to use computers at a young age; he then learned to fix them before his dad found out that he’d broken something. From there he headed to Conestoga College and their Management Studies & Radio Broadcasting programs. He worked at both Conestoga College’s Computer Hardware Department and at Staples in sales and computer repair before joining the Nautalex team.

Adam’s favourite things about his job are the people and the warm welcome that comes with being the ‘IT person’. His least favourite are overly snug power connectors and sharp computer parts.

Adam’s offline passion is music; singing and playing piano and guitar. A self-described out-of-the loop, cable-free nerd, Adam says, if he can’t fix it, it’s very broken and you’re going to need a new one.

Marty Dupré - Systems Support

Marty Dupré - Systems Support

As a self professed, over-educated computer whiz (UW Computer Science and Conestoga College Electrical Engineering Technician), Marty started out in construction. Well, the IT department of a construction company to be exact; testing, repairing and calibrating furnace remote controls. From there he moved on to bigger and better things at Nautalex providing exceptional IT Systems Support to clients.

Marty's favourite and least favourite thing about his job are the same: there are always different issues to deal with and there are Always different issues to deal with!

When he's not dealing with those issues, you can find Marty on the ski hills, the volleyball court or pondering the big questions in life - "My parking spot is 42... and THE answer is 42... coincidence?" If you have the answer, feel free to give Marty a call.

Bill Stiff

Bill Stiff

“Nothing stands still in IT. Everything changes and it rarely becomes stale.”

The newest addition to the team at Nautelex, Bill is our Tech Room Steward. After what seemed like a lifetime of manufacturing work, Bill was gifted with the opportunity to get an education in a field he is actually passionate about- computers.

With an inspiring philosophy that there’s always something new to learn, Bill graduated college at the age of 37 and is highly qualified to take care of your desktop needs with a Network Administration Engineering and Design degree from Conestoga.

One of Bill’s favourite things is coming across situations that embody his key value – hard work. When Bill says, “I’ve never seen that happen before,” you know he won’t be stumped for long. On the flip side, Bill is still searching for something about his profession that he doesn’t like.

With a great wife and kids, Bill centers his downtime around his family.
