Wordle word graph

There are tons of Social Media sites out there offering all sorts of insights into your Twitter traffic, engagement trails or data streams.  They analyze your mood, your sentiment, your reach – well pretty much anything you want. Some of them are useful, some of them interesting, some of them leave you wondering, “what the?”  but they all are worth looking at and trying out to see if it can be used for your brand.

Every once in a while you come across a site that is fun to play with.  Here are a few that I found:

Wordle:

According to their website, Wordle,” is a is a toy for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like. You can print them out, or save them to the Wordle gallery to share with your friends”.

I think it would be great if your Wordle word cloud could be turned into code that could be embedded into your website or blog.  So much prettier than the standard word clouds available on most blogs.

WordFoto:

This is a really cool app that turns your photos and words into typographic works of art.  Basically, WordFoto takes an image you supply and turns it into one composed of words.  You can change the style, add your own words, fine tune and crop.  From there you can email, add to Facebook or save it to your photo library.  Watch out though – you might end up spending your whole day on this one.

Some other ones you may want to check out are:

An open source word cloud WordCram.

Processing is an open source programming language and environment for people who want to create images, animations, and interactions.

I’m sure there are lots of other cool ones out there – let us know if you’ve come across any.
